Cutler & Co

Culter and Co in Fitzroy served the best food we have had in Melbourne so far. Talk about " the combination of flavors exploding inside your mouth" - a phase so often heard on MasterChief. The entree, main, and dessert I had last night was simply divine. One thing for sure, it will be quite hard to replicate this at home. The photo, taken by my aging LX1 , doesn't really do justice to the dish.

Doing things differently

When I was a medical student, my impression of Middlemore Hospital is one of innovation. It is the first out of the 3 metropolitan hospitals in Auckland to have a state-of-the-art integrated electronic discharge, laboratory and radiology system. It is also the first to have a monthly CEO forum - something unheard of in public hospitals in those days. The idea was only picked up by Auckland Hospital a few years ago.

Now comes Ko Awatea - "first light" in Maori. I have yet to explore the site. One can only hope it continues the innovative tradition of Middlemore - the advantage that it has over the big city hospital in Grafton.
